Concept 2 model D with PIM 5 is finally here

Last weekend I returned the Dynamic R1 Pro Rower back to Costco. The return process was a bit more involving and required unpacking the box to ensure all part are present. I do not recall doing this during my previous returns. One of reason I could think of is that the Dynamic R1 Pro Rower was ordered online and required some special processing.

Two main reasons for the return:

•Very uncomfortable seat. I noticed a very uncomfortable butt pain after each and every row. The seat is soft, but the back of the seat is a bit raised, which causes some pressure and, according to some reports, can cause a small cut.

•The machine requiers external power. From time to time I enjoy erging outside and do not have an outlet to power Dynamic R1 Pro Rower.

So yesterday the model D has arrived. Assembling Concept2 is a lot easier than Dynamic R1 Pro Rower and takes only few minutes and total of eight screws. I was doing the practice row in about four minutes. Great engineering.

The huge Concept2 advantage over Dynamic R1 Pro Rower is PIM5 which is new and lets you use USB drive to move the data between the erg and your computer.

So the first workout will be the Erg Marathon Challenge. You guessed it right, Erg Marathon is the same distance as the long-distance running event, 26.2 miles.
